How to configure Airbnb to automatically share your House Manual (on your phone)

You’ve worked tirelessly to create a beautiful Welcome guide for your Vacation Rental. In addition to having all the basics covered like your contact information, house rules, safety / emergency info, amenities, and recommendations you’ve personalized it and truly made it your own.

Configure Airbnb to automatically share your Guest Manual with guests leading up to their stay. Market everything that your property has to offer and help your guests answer all of their questions before they arise.

Step by Step: Auto-share your Guest Manual on Airbnb

Share

Tap the share button on the Guest Manual mobile app. This will launch the share sheet which shows the many different ways your Guest Manual can be shared.

Copy link

We will be pasting in the web link to your Guest Manual in to the Airbnb app. Tap the Copy button to copy the web link to your Guest Manual.

Open app

Launch the Airbnb app on your mobile phone

Switch mode

Tap the Profile icon in the tab bar and tap "Switch to hosting" to switch to Hosting mode. This will give you access to the Listing Editor.

View listings

Tap the Listings icon to choose the listing you would like to automatically share this Guest Manual for.

Select listing

Click on the Arrival guide section of your Listing editor. This section shows information that is shared with the guest prior to their arrival.

Switch view

Tap the Arrival guide section of your Listing editor. This section shows information that is shared with the guest prior to their arrival.

Select section

Swipe down on the Arrival guide and tap the House manual section to reveal the place you will be pasting in your copied web link to your Guest Manual.

Paste link

Paste in the web link to your Guest Manual to the House manual section and tap the save button.

Auto share

Confirm that your Arrival guide has been updated with the link to your Guest Manual. Note that Airbnb will automatically share this with guests 24-48 hours before check-in.

For more fine grained sharing, we recommend the following additional steps

Go to messages

Tap the Messages icon in the tab bar to be routed to the Messages section of the Airbnb app.

Messages settings

Tap the Settings icon to show the Schedules messages feature that we will be using.

Scheduled messages

Tap the Scheduled messages option in the Messaging settings sheet.

Create template

Tap the plus button to create a new Scheuled message template.

Enter name

Enter in a name for your scheduled message template. We suggest using a descriptive name like "Guest Manual".

Enter message

Enter in the message you would like guests to receive with the link to their Guest Manual. We recommend something simple suggesting they read it prior to their stay.

View shortcodes

Tap the Insert button to show the short codes selection sheet.

Insert link

Scroll down on the Insert shortcodes sheet and tap on house manual. This will insert the link to your Guest Manual into your scheduled message template

Show listings

Scroll down on the Create a message template sheet and click on Listings.

Select listing

Select the listing that you would like to automatically share this Guest Manual for and click on Apply.

Schedule message

Tap the Action pulldown to reveal the different schedule types you can apply to this message. We recommend choosing "Booking Confirmed".

Specify when

Specify when you would like for the message to be sent. For your Guest Manual we recommend sending it 24 hours after a booking is confirmed.

Create template

Tap the Create button to create a new scheduled message template which will automatically send your Guest Manual to your guests 24 hours after they book.

All set! Your Guest Manual will be shared with guests 24 hours after they book helping build anticipation leading up to their stay. And it will shared again as part of the Arrival Guide that Airbnb sends out for every booking 24 - 48 hours before check-in.
